In this volume of hard-hitting true stories of faith and redemption, women of all races will be met where they are—in pain. From abortion to adultery, rape to regret, the stories will unfold, swathes of Tamar’s garment, beautiful but torn. In this volume, women will travel by way of creative nonfiction to Tamar’s unreached destination—the Father’s house.

Up to 50 stories will be accepted. Contributors will receive $50 plus one copy upon publication. Reprints accepted. Only those selected for publication will be contacted. Please read the website and sample stories carefully and prayerfully before submitting.

Stories may be submitted on the form below or by sending an email to submissions@sistahfaith.com. Email entries should be in plain text without formatting. Email entries should be in plain text without formatting. 1000-2500 words. Please include name, address, phone and email address so that we contact you if your story is selected.

Stories can convey anger but not rage; pain but not bitterness. There should be emotion, but hope as well. Spiritual aspects should be woven into narrative somehow, not tacked on. Christian women from all backgrounds are invited to submit. Though this volume is in-your-face, we will not accept profanity or  excessive graphic sexual descriptions of any kind. We want real stories about women believing beyond shame. Stories shouldn’t be preachy (written to sound like a sermon, lacking emotion), but intimate and honest. See the table of contents for more information about the book’s structure. If submitting more than one story, please make sure that each fits the chapter outlined.

RIGHTS

We purchase reprint and one time non-exclusive rights. Authors of selected stories will receive a contract to be signed and returned. Feel free to submit your story to other collections. We do not return manuscripts.
